Ravenna Chase Recognized for Volunteer Service
Ravenna A. Chase of The MayaTech Corporation received a volunteer appreciation award from the Bethesda Medical Chapter of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) for her stellar work on the organization's Web site. Chase, a senior program analyst with MayaTech's Center for Information Systems Technology Applications, was one of three individuals recognized at the chapter's recent volunteer appreciation event.
MayaTech, an applied social science research, technical assistance, information technology, and communications firm headquartered in Silver Spring, Md., provided free Web hosting to the local chapter of this national nonprofit professional organization as a community service for several years. Chase was solely responsible for regularly updating the NCMA site from 1999 through 2005.
Nominated by NCMA Bethesda Medical Chapter President Prasad Karunakaran for this honor, Chase was acknowledged for her contribution to the chapter's Graalman Award, an NCMA annual program that measures the performance of its local chapters. NCMA Bethesda Medical Chapter earned gold status, the highest level of recognition, for its 2005 activities.
"Many times over our clients are amazed at and appreciative of the products and services we provide to them. I figure it's what we get paid to do, so it should be expected," said Chase. "In this case, although hosting for this nonprofit organization was provided to them at no charge, the level of customer service offered was never compromised. I was more than happy to accommodate their requests."
