Government Facilitation of Evidence-Based Practice Award

Nominees:

Congratulations to Peter Panzarella, Substance Abuse Services, Connecticut Department of Children and Families Peter Panzarella
Peter Panzarella has been a steadfast advocate for adolescent substance abuse treatment in a state system that hasn't always provided the necessary support and resources for this problem. Peter has worked tirelessly to gain support within his own state agency and the state legislature for adolescent substance abuse services. The transformation in the state adolescent treatment system in the quality and quantity of services that are now available to substance abusing youth and their families in Connecticut is testimony to the success of his vision and efforts.

Evidence-Based Practice Award

Nominees:

Congratulations to Connecticut Renaissance
John Hamilton wrote that Connecticut Renaissance represents one of our best examples of an agency that has created an organizational culture that effectively implements and adopts evidence-based practices (EBT). This includes implementing specific protocols like MET/CBT12, FSN, MST, Aggression Replacement Therapy (ART), case management, and contingency management, as well as introducing a wide range of screening and brief intervention in local schools, colleges and juvenile justice facilities. Moreover, they understand what it takes to make these things work in practice and have simultaneously emphasized taping sessions for feedback, staffing, and individual supervision. Accepting for the program are Patrick McAuliffe, Elisabeth-Leigh Bradley, and Laura Shipman.
